Helivr

Helivr was a short-lived Russian project, that threaded through many genres familiar to the current Industrial "scene". From Harsh Noise to Ambient, and even Techno. I don't even remember how I got to know it, I guess it was through Tumblr, where I saw somebody else posting his (pretty great collage) artwork that also adorns his releases. Without allegiance to a single genre, he crafted some amazing little digital EPs that are worthwhile everybody's attention, everybody who is into any form of contemporary Industrial influenced music.
I have since, lost contact with him. He even deleted the Bandcamp account. So this post is an historical document, an homage to comrades once gone. I can't even begin to guess the reason why the project split-up, and it's not my place to question it, afterall. But here it is, for anyone who didn't get the opportunity to know it at the time, and a little shard of optimism, hoping that it's not gone for good.
I didn't manage to salvage everything, though. I didn't download some releases, and when I decided it was time to, they were already gone. But there are quite a few to dig into. All compiled [here] and reviewed below.

Barb Wire Tropics

Some crunchy Harsh Noise that slowly morphs into some dark Industrial Techno. Heavy, heavy stuff.

Clemency

Post-Industrial bliss. Elements of Drone, Noise, Ambient and field recordings. Atmosphere goes from menacing and brooding to melancholic and blissful. Very lowkey and lo-fi. Similar to False Moniker, another underrated project.

Delight Of The Sacred Passion

Just beautiful. Fuzzy Ambient, with more field recordings, and some tape wow and flutter. It gets noisier during the second half, and some beats creep in during the end.

Immortal

Be careful with this one! It starts very calm, lowkey, melancholic and quiet, minding its own business, until (surprise!) it gets Harsh during the second half. But it's more dynamic, much more interesting Noise. Only to subside (sort of) again at the end. Love this one!

Mantle

Short and sweet little EP (would made a beautiful 7"). The usual suspects are here: Melodic synths, field recordings (even featuring some lewd sounds), and tape.

Sounion Flare

This was the first one, if I remeber correctly. Very saturated and harsh, but with a melodic underbelly that keeps struggling to be noticed. Reminds me of early Posh Isolation stuff. A favorite!
